QUEENS, NEW YORK — Most of the country’s service industry is still out of work, and those who are working are doing so in (what is supposed to be) 20-30% capacity crowds. We caught up with local tough guy bartender Heath Baxter from the Astoria area of Queens NY for his take on the employment situation.

“I don’t know why everyone is freaking out. I’ve taken smoke breaks longer than this,” he told us over the phone. “We’re all going to be fine.”

Heath broke conversation for a moment to ask if we could pick him up from a friend’s house in Jersey City. We declined the request.

“I mean, it’s not like I’m loving  being out of work though,” he went on. “It really sucks having the roommates home so much. They’re constantly walking around while I’m trying to sleep.  I pay $210 a month to have some peace and quiet on that couch!”
