SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA — Local bartender Devon “The Heater” Hanks has worked at some of the finest cocktail bars in the bay area. The left side of his Facebook profile reads like an Eater Heatmap recap of the last 4 years. Today is his first day at beloved neighborhood cocktail bar, Herringbone.
“Oh, yeah, at my last bar we just bought almond milk to make orgeat with,” he said, speaking over his new bar manager Amanda. “It’s so much faster and nobody can tell the difference.”
At last report, Devon was upset that he was scheduled for service well after loudly proclaiming himself as ‘a beast on service.’
“I mean, yeah, I destroy service well. But how am I supposed to build regulars over there?!”
