CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA — It has been two steps forward and one step back for most of the country’s reopening plans. We spoke with Charleston bar patron, Louisa Rollins, yesterday for reaction.
“Wait, so you’re telling me I can drink a bottle of wine and read a book at the bar without being bothered?” she asked, with a not-so-faint glimmer of a smile. “These rules are everything right now. I want the death toll to stop, but we should keep this, uh, precaution, going forever.”
“We’re, of course, looking forward to serving Louisa as long as we can,” the on duty bartender told us. “It’s a good thing we’re at 50% capacity these days, otherwise we wouldn’t have room for the giant elephant in the room holding a sign that says ‘This is not sustainable’.”
